We tried to answer as may questions as we could! If you have anymore, please email.
What packages are available?
We have a multitude of package options! To see the details of each party, look at our Pricing page.
How far in advance do I need to book?
We ask that you book 6-8 weeks in advance.
How do I pay my deposit?
A $100 nonrefundable deposit will be due at the time of booking via a PayPal Invoice that will be emailed to you. This must be paid in order to reserve your spot.
Are your prices expensive?
You can't put a price on memories that last a life time! We designed our packages to accommodate all budgets. Our packages are cheaper than a family trip to a theme park! To see the details of each party look at our Pricing page.
Do your princesses accept tips?
Absolutely! The entertainers that serve you are all extremely well trained and make it their number one priority to ensure your party is a success. Gratuity is not included in the total of your package price, so if you want to show your entertainer that you loved their performance, gratuity is a great way of doing so. Though it is not expected, it is always appreciated.
Tipping an entertainer is just like tipping a waiter; anywhere between 18%-20% of your package total is a typical tip amount and is much appreciated.

What is the best age for a party with a princess?
Our parties and events are structured towards 3-7 year old children. However we have done parties for all ages! We've done parties for 1 year olds - to 50 year olds!
Does it matter how many guests I invite?
For our Silver, Gold, Villain, and Mini Packages, there is no limit on guests. Guest limitations for other packages are listed below. Just know that the more guests you invite, the less one-on-one time that the princess will have with each guest.
Platinum Package - Up to 10 guests

Can I invite boys to the party?
Of course! We could always use princes! Especially for story time!
What should the children wear?
We encourage your guest to wear their favorite princess dress (or boys can dress up as a prince or knight!) to the party.
What venues will you entertain at?
Our princesses will come to almost anywhere! We do ask that you tell us where you plan to have the party so the princesses have time to prepare. If the party is outside, please refer to our outdoor party policy. Our princesses will not perform at any venue where alcohol is served or smoking is permitted.
What is your outdoor party policy?
Outdoor venues are always welcome! However, if you are planning an outdoor party, always have a backup plan in the event of bad weather. Since the costumes and wigs worn by the performers are extremely hot, delicate, and are extremely valuable, it is preferred to have a covered or shaded area for all activities. As outdoor venues are much more difficult for our princesses and require that our gowns go through a rigorous cleaning process after being exposed to outdoor elements, we do charge a $30 flat fee per princess per party for all outdoor parties.
How far do you travel?
Our princess headquarters is located in Grandview, Ohio. If a princess must travel more than 15 miles to get to the party, an extra dollar will be added for each mile. Areas we serve: Columbus, Bexley, New Albany, Dublin, Gahanna, Powell, Westerville, Grandview Heights, Worthington, Hillard, Pickerington, Deleware, Sunbury, Canal Winchester, Reynoldsburg, Grove City - and so much more!
We can travel to any type of venue your party is located. Please be aware, however, that some venues have their own restrictions and guidelines. Please check if your venue allows outside entertainment before booking with us. Not Just Make Believe Parties is not responsible for checking if your venue does not allow outside vendors.

What does the princess bring to the party?
Our princesses bring everything needed to conduct the activities included in your ordered package. Each package is different, so we bring different things to every party. If you ordered a package with games, we will bring everything needed for all the games we play. We also bring our own fun music and radio to the parties. We ask that you have an outlet available to the princess so we plug in our radio. Finally, we supply our own storybook for the storytelling session, as well as the tea set if you've chosen that package.
What do I need to provide for the party?
We also request that you provide an area for the princess to sit while storytelling and an area for games and activities. We do not provide any food, or supplies for eating or decorating.
What can I do to ensure that the party runs smoothly?
There are a few things that always help with the fluidity of the party day:
- Our party host will call you when they have arrived at the party venue. Please have your phone on and be prepared for the call as our hosts might have out-of-state numbers.
- Please pay the remaining balance to the host prior to entering the party. We accept ONLY CASH. When paying the performers, we urge you to please pay the host and not the character! We also ask that you pay before the beginning of the party when the children are out of sight. This is to preserve the magic!
- Our host will let you know if they need an outlet or not. Please have one ready and easily accessible to the host if needed.
- We always suggest doing cake and singing happy birthday at the end of the character’s visit. This way the children will be too preoccupied with their cake to follow the host and performer out of the party!
- If you have older children who are going to be present, please make sure that they don't say anything along the lines of "you're not the REAL princess” etc.. We don't want any magic to be ruined for any guest.
- Please have a spot prepared for individual pictures with the character. A beautiful background or backdrop works wonderfully!
- Have your cameras ready! There are going to a lot of magical moments!
- Gratuity is not required, but is always welcomed! Traditionally you tip performers 18-20%.
- Be available to aid your party princess if issues arise with children needing assistance or
misbehaving.
What happens if a guest becomes ill or is disruptive?
The princess is only responsible to engage the children in party activities. Any behavior or health issues with children must be taken care of by a parent or party host. Good behavior is always promoted, but it is the responsibility of the hostess to monitor and take charge of any children who are not behaving or who do not want to participate in the party activities. Our princesses are not babysitters and will under no circumstance reprimand your guest. We ask that we have plenty adult supervision during the party.
What if a guest arrives late?
All parties will begin at the time scheduled by the host/hostess and will end at the end of the party duration time. All events are based on a schedule and work best when all guests arrive on time. Late guests are welcome to join in upon arrival, but the princess will not go back to an activity after it has concluded.
What is your cancellation/rescheduling/inclement weather policy?
1. All events are "rain or shine" unless otherwise stipulated. The PURCHASER is responsible to provide an alternate indoor location in the event of inclement weather. See 4 for further details about inclement weather.
2. Cancellation of the engagement by the PURCHASER for any reason shall forfeit the deposit. Cancellation of the engagement by the PURCHASER within 30 days of the date of engagement shall also require payment of the balance to the PROVIDER, unless the same act is re-booked by the PURCHASER for a mutually agreeable date within 21 days of the canceled date. A PURCHASER canceling their engagement by telephone must also verify that cancellation in writing (via dated mail, email).
3. If the PROVIDER or the PURCHASER must cancel the engagement due to an Act of God, "Force Majeure", riot, strike, epidemic, or by the order of any public authority, this contract shall become null and void, all deposit and balance payments shall be refunded, and both parties shall have no further legal recourse against each other.
4. In the event that inclement weather prevents the PROVIDER from arriving at the event on time, safely or at all, the PROVIDER will notify the PURCHASER immediately. The PROVIDER will work with the PURCHASER to discuss whether or not to proceed with the event. PROVIDER has final say.
a. In the event that the event needs to be rescheduled, the PROVIDER will try their hardest to provide their services for the PURCHASERS desired date.
